Details

This report provides a summary of approximately 480,000 radon measurements made in English and Welsh homes between 1980 and 2009. It updates a previous report issued in 2002, and complements the radon atlas of England and Wales published in 2007.

Results are shown for a range of administrative areas, postcodes and NHS authorities, and are accompanied by a short descriptive text. For these administrative areas, the report presents estimates of the numbers of homes at or above the Action Level of 200 becquerels per cubic metre of air. The total number of homes above the Action Level is estimated to be between 100,000 and 200,000.
