Details
Approved bodies and designated bodies are third-party verification bodies that assess rail subsystems and constituents against technical standards that apply under the Railways (Interoperability) Regulations 2011, as amended for European Union Exit.
Approved bodies assess against National Technical Specification Notices (NTSNs) and designated bodies assess against National Technical Rules (NTRs).
Approved bodies and designated bodies are appointed by the Secretary of State after considering advice from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service which monitors their performance.
