Public Health England has published 2 sets of targets for levels of salt in food products and drinks. Businesses are expected to work towards achieving these targets as part of the sugar reduction and wider reformulation programme, one of the main commitments in Childhood obesity: a plan for action.

These targets were originally devised in 2014 through the Public Health Responsibility Deal.
