Details

An external research agency completed quantitative and qualitative research relating to the segmentation of businesses.

Allocating businesses to segments helps improve targeting, design, and delivery of export promotion services to UK businesses. This makes sure that export support is most tailored to different business needs.

The quantitative research:

The qualitative research:

  • provided an in-depth analysis of the characteristics of the segments
  • developed pen portraits of the segments
  • was based on 60 one-hour interviews with SME business owners and managers with a minimum turnover of £500,000 across the UK
