This document responds to question 22 of our review of property conditions in the private rented sector discussion document.

It sets out the government’s approach to modernising this out-dated legislation (Section 25 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1973), so that residents can allow their homes to be used on a short-term basis without unnecessary red tape.
