Social investment: an overview
Social investment provides capital for social organisations to provide social and financial benefits. The investment is repayable, often with interest, and is often used to develop new or existing activities that generate income.
There are around 180,000 social enterprises in the UK. They contribute at least £55 billion to the economy, create jobs and growth and tackle disadvantage.
