Details

Paper prepared by the SAGE Task and Finish Group for Celebrations and Observances on the key evidence and advice on celebrations and observances during COVID-19. It was considered at SAGE 66 on 5 November 2020.

The paper is the assessment of the evidence at the time of writing. As new evidence or data emerges, SAGE updates its advice accordingly.

This paper references preliminary analysis from one group which suggests that for each day that measures are relaxed, five days of stringent measures are required to reduce prevalence again. More information can be found in the supporting explainer document released under SAGE 64.

This paper should be read alongside the paper ‘SPI-B: Insights on celebrations and observances during COVID-19’ from SAGE 64,
