Details

This skills forecasting baseline study report was commissioned by the Strategic Transport Apprenticeship Taskforce (STAT). It:

  • analyses the existing road and rail workforce
  • reviews secured and assumed investment plans in the rail and road sector
  • determines the future workforce required to deliver rail and road projects successfully

STAT was set up to deliver the Transport infrastructure skills strategy (TISS). STAT commissioned the National Skills Academy for Rail to develop a skills forecasting model (SIM). The tool was used in this study to establish future workforce demand.
