To restore your herd’s officially TB free (OTF) status, you’ll need to complete the cleansing and disinfection declaration form (BT05) and send it to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).

With the removal of all bovine TB reactors and direct contact animals, you must cleanse and disinfect the:

  • premises
  • facilities
  • vehicles
  • equipment

For premises in England, email the completed form to [email protected]. Or you can post it to:

Animal and Plant Health Agency
Isca Building
Manley House

For premises in Scotland, email (preferred) the completed form to [email protected]. Or you can post it to:

APHA Field Services
Strathearn House

For premises in Wales, email the completed form to [email protected]. Or you can post it to:

If you do not send the declaration to APHA, it may delay the removal of herd restrictions.

When visiting an affected farm, APHA inspectors may check that cleansing and disinfection has been completed as required.

See the guidance on Bovine TB: get your cattle tested in England and What happens if TB is identified in your herd in Scotland and Wales for further information.
