The government’s response is a demonstration of the government’s commitment to growth in the Thames Estuary.

At Budget 2016 the government asked the Thames Estuary 2050 Growth Commission to set out an ambitious vision and delivery plan for North Kent, South Essex and East London. The Thames Estuary 2050 Growth Commission published their report on 25 June 2018.

The government is grateful to the Commission for providing a clear vision for north Kent, south Essex and east London and has considered their recommendations. In this response the government welcomes the Commission’s vision, and sets out commitments to the Thames Estuary.
