Dame Sara Khan was appointed by the Prime Minister as the government’s Independent Adviser for Social Cohesion and Resilience in March 2021 and tasked with producing an independent Review with recommendations to build resilience against extremism and other divisive activity, understand its impact, and better support its victims.

Her review, Threats to Social Cohesion and Democratic Resilience, is an examination of some of the contemporary threats to social cohesion and our country’s democratic resilience whilst highlighting the need for a new strategic approach to tackle these issues.
