Details

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) appointed Ricardo Energy and Environment to consider the potential for deployment of bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) in the UK. The report considers feedstocks, conversion technologies, costs, deployment barriers and economic and environmental impacts.

The analysis for this report was completed in 2019 (based on work undertaken by Wood in 2017-2018), with additional minor changes made in August 2020. BEIS also recognises that some of the underlying costs may have fallen since the Wood research was first undertaken over 2 years ago.
