Details

The Social Housing (Building Safety) Engagement Best Practice Group brought together social landlords and residents from across the country, to place residents at the heart of engagement on fire and building safety matters.

The members have undertaken a series of practical pilots, testing specific approaches in different areas, organisations and contexts. The outcomes of which are intended not only to benefit residents and landlords in the social sector but also to be applied more widely across other tenures.

The Group’s ways of working has empowered the residents and enabled their voices to be heard, allowing them to influence decisions that affect their lives. The Group’s approach has reflected all that is positive in the social housing sector.

We have really valued the voluntary effort that residents have made in this group to identify practical ways to improve communication on building safety, and for the support and time that landlords have contributed to taking this forward.

Government welcomes the publication of the Social Sector (Building Safety) Engagement Best Practice Group final report and will respond in full in due course.
