Details

You can only transfer a vehicle operating centre to another operator’s licence if either:

  • you’ve taken over an existing operator centre and don’t want to increase the vehicle and trailer authorisation
  • you’re applying for a new licence and don’t want to increase the vehicle and trailer authorisation of the existing operator centre

You can’t apply to transfer an operating centre online.

It’s sometimes called a ‘schedule 4 transfer’ because it’s made possible by schedule 4 of the Goods Vehicle (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995.
