Details

This analysis looks at trends in drug misuse deaths in recent years. These findings can be used by local authority commissioners and service providers to help make local recommendations to prevent drug-related deaths.

It matches the most recent data from the Office of National Statistics’ drug poisoning database with Public Health England’s (PHE) national drug treatment monitoring system.

This report is part of PHE’s ongoing work to investigate the trends around drug misuse death, which includes the report from a national expert group that led a national inquiry in 2016.
