A newer version of this plan - the UK food and drink: international action plan 2016 to 2020 - was published in October 2016.

This action plan aims to grow exports for the UK agri-food and drink sector through improvements in promotion, trade development, unlocking markets and simplifying support and trade procedures for industry.

The plan has been developed over the last year by the UK food and drink industry, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), and the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (Defra). It follows six months of consultation with companies and trade organisations.

This updated action plan reflects an increase in ambition and in our commitment to supporting the whole UK agri-food and drink sector. The wider industry ambition is to increase exports value by at least £1bn up until October 2015. This plan plays a key role in delivering that.
