Details

The report sets out port freight forecasts produced by the Department for transport. It also describes the background and methodology of the forecasts.

The primary purpose of these port traffic forecasts is to inform long term strategic thinking for the future direction of the UK ports sector. They supersede the previous set of forecasts that were produced in May 2006.

These new forecast use a forecasting model built by DfT for the first time. As work continues to refine and develop the model further, we are keen to invite views on the forecasts, the methodology and how people will use these forecasts. If you have any feedback on the forecasts, please get in touch at [email protected].
