Details

Following the independent Techno Economic Assessment of Small Modular Reactors, government commissioned the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) and the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (NAMRC) to assess the strengths of the UK’s supply chain and R&D capabilities for design, manufacture and deployment of the different families of AMR technologies.

The report considers the UK’s current capabilities and identifies where these would need to be strengthened to better enable the UK to develop AMRs and secure future market share. It provides BEIS with recommendations on how to support the supply chain and how to utilise R&D capabilities and infrastructure in the UK.
