Details

This is a report by the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) on Universal Credit benefit cap regulations under section 174(1) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992. It includes a statement by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in accordance with section 174(2) of that act.

The regulations change the benefit cap earnings exception threshold in Universal Credit so that the threshold is linked to the National Living Wage. They come into force from 1 April 2017.
