This technical report outlines and evaluates procedures using high performance liquid chromatography and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography for measuring vitamin B12 in foods.

The study was undertaken to provide validated analytical methods for use in referee analysis of vitamins.

The report includes an evaluation of a commercial immunoaffinity cartridge used for the selective isolation of vitamin B12. The evaluation does not imply any endorsement of the product by the Government Chemist and alternative products may be available.
