The Committee on Carcinogenicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COC) prepared this statement in response to a request from the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The FSA requested that the committee review the information available on vitamin E and the risk of prostate cancer, including epidemiological, animal and in vitro studies on this topic in the light of the results from the SELECT study.
