Details

This document provides a series of case studies and good practice examples of ways in which employers can work better with government to help young people gain access to the workplace.

The report has been written jointly by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) and the Industry and Parliament Trust (IPT), an independent charity. The report followed a series of sessions in which major employers, including Marks and Spencer, Rolls Royce and Nissan, made presentations to the Youth Skills Commission. Companies focused in particular on how they recruit and develop young people and what their future plans are, demonstrating what steps they have taken to tackle the issue. The report brings these case studies together.

A series of briefing reports also cover a range of sector specific examples.

For more information on the work UKCES does to tackle youth unemployment, see the UKCES Youth Employment Reports collection.
