Details

This ad-hoc release of statistics provides a new estimate of the number and proportion of working age individuals, aged 22 to State Pension age, who are undersaving for their retirement.

The publication updates the analysis Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) published in the Analytical Report of the 2017 Automatic Enrolment review.

Although the analyses are not directly comparable, they follow a similar methodology. Differences between the two are discussed in this report.

The report seeks to answer:

  1. What is the current level of undersaving for retirement of working age individuals?
  2. Which groups are undersaving?
  3. What is the depth of undersaving?
