Details

Quarterly experimental statistics on breastfeeding prevalence at 6 to 8 weeks after birth for 2016 to 2017. Information is presented at local authority of residence, PHE Centre and England level.

The latest publication relates to quarter 4 of 2016 to 2017 (July 2017 release). This release also includes a refresh of data for previous quarter(s).

Public Health England collects the data through an interim reporting system set up to collect health visiting activity data at a local authority resident level. Data is submitted by local authorities on a voluntary basis.

Annual experimental statistics for 2016 to 2017 will be published in November 2017.
