December 2024: Correction to the ‘Corporation Tax statistics commentary 2023’
HMRC identified a minor error affecting the commentary in the 2023 version of the annual Corporation Tax Statistics publication. In the final sentence of section 7 it was incorrectly stated that 19% of companies had zero Corporation Tax liability in 2021-22 and 18% in 2020-21. These figures should have read as 49% and 47% respectively, and the commentary has now been corrected. The most recent version of the publication, for 2024, is not affected by this issue, nor are the figures in the data tables that were published alongside the 2023 commentary.
