Details

Statistics on the number and pass rates of driving and riding practical tests conducted in Great Britain for the period October 2021 to December 2021, and also statistics on driving instructors.

Between October 2021 to December 2021, there were:

  • 419,742 car practical tests conducted

Compared with October 2019 to December 2019, this was:

  • a decrease of 1.2% for car practical tests

The pass rate in the period October 2021 to December 2021, was:

  • 48.1% for car practical tests

This latest release does not include complete theory test data for the latest 2 quarters. This follows a change to the Theory Test service delivery from 6 September 2021 which have led to unforeseen delays in compiling the data for this release. It had been hoped to have published previously missing data within this latest release, but this has not been possible and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) have some confidence that the missing data will be available in time for the annual release in June 2022. September’s data will therefore be published as part of the October to December (financial quarter 3) release in March 2022.
