Following the publication of “Fire and rescue authorities: operational statistics bulletin for England 2015 to 2016”, we became aware that there were inconsistencies in the historic data that had been supplied by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for previous years. This affects the full time equivalent (FTE) counts of Retained Duty System firefighters for the years before 2015. The data tables will be updated with this revised series of data for the next publication: “Fire and rescue authorities: operational statistics bulletin for England 2016 to 2017”.
