Details
This release provides final full-year information on post-16 learner participation and achievements in further education (FE) and skills for the academic year 2015 to 2016. It presents information on:
- adult (aged 19+) government-funded FE (excluding schools and higher education) comprising:
- education and training, including offender learning (aged 18+)
- apprenticeships
- English and maths
- community learning
- employer ownership pilots
- advanced learner loans
- traineeships (aged 16 to 24)
- all age (aged 16+) apprenticeships in England
- the highest level of qualification held by adults (aged 19 to 64) in England
Final data for earlier years is also available, along with data broken down by:
- learner characteristics including:
- gender
- ethnicity
- learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- different geographical areas

Ofqual Vocational qualification data shown in Table 18 of this release, and accompanying supplementary tables, were updated on 15 December 2017 as part of a formal cascade of this release. These tables were updated to include data for the fourth quarter of 2015/16 (Jul 16 to Sep 16), which will allow Ofqual to update their detailed bulletins that include these data.
