Details

This analysis provides estimates of average weekly earnings and total incomes of benefit units in Great Britain using the latest published statistics from the Family Resource Survey (April 2011 to March 2012). A benefit unit is the basic family unit for the purposes of administering out-of-work benefits.

This analysis has been produced in response to a growing demand for estimates of average weekly earnings used for the government’s considerations of the level of the benefit cap.
