The latest release of these statistics can be found in the collection of Move to Universal Credit statistics.

New quarterly experimental statistics on the number of people who have been sent managed migration notices inviting them to claim Universal Credit (UC).

We’ve also published a document setting out lessons learnt from moving tax credit claimants to Universal Credit to date and the subsequent improvements made to the claimant journey as a result.

This initial release of statistics cover:

  • the number of people who have been sent a migration notice in relation to Move to Universal Credit

Amongst those who have been sent a migration notice in relation to Move to Universal Credit, the number who have not yet claimed Universal Credit but were still within the 3 month period for making a claim.

Amongst those who have been sent a migration notice in relation to Move to Universal Credit, the number who had not claimed Universal Credit and whose legacy benefit had been closed.

These categories will be broken down by:

  • month migration notice sent
  • age group
  • gender
  • Great Britain and standard geographical region
  • whether previously claimed DWP legacy benefits or tax credits

Amongst those who have been sent a migration notice in relation to Move to Universal Credit, the number who have made a claim to Universal Credit and who had been awarded transitional protection by:

  • month migration notice sent
  • age group
  • gender
  • Great Britain and standard geographical region
  • whether previously claimed DWP legacy benefits or tax credits

Proposals to further develop these statistics are available in the statistical work programme document and the Move to UC statistics release strategy.
