Details

Statistics on attitudes around travel and transport issues, asked of people who have completed the main National Travel Survey.

Questions in wave 2 were put to 2,654 individuals and includes responses on a wide array of topics, including

  • Active transport (walking and cycling)
  • Road journeys and the environment
  • Road congestion
  • Road safety
  • Public transport
  • Transport and disability

Headline figures include:

  • 61% of respondents are in favour of Low Emission Zones (LEZ)
  • 63% of respondents feel that the law around driving whilst under the influence of drugs is not being properly enforced
  • 70% of respondents support increased accessibility on public transport, even if this increases fares
