Details

This release covers activity under the scheme from commencement on 12 March 2012 until 30 June 2013, representing the first full year (and therefore the first 4 quarters) since scheme launch. It covers an unusually extended first quarter, including the period from launch until 31 March 2012 when no transactions were completed under the scheme.

The main points were:

  • by 30 June 2013 3,749 home purchases had been completed under the Help to Buy: NewBuy scheme in England
  • there were 1,460 home purchases between 1 April and 30 June 2013, representing the strongest quarterly sales under NewBuy since scheme commencement
  • by 30 June 2013 the government’s liability had increased to £38.4 million
  • by 30 June 2013 the government had incurred no costs

The next release will include activity to 30 September 2013, and will be published by the end of the year.
