Prison unit costs cover the direct and overall cost of prison places and prisoner population.

This publication covers 2016 to 2017 and restates statistics covering 2015 to 2016.

The bulletin is released by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and produced in accordance with arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
