Revisions

The underlying data has been subject to minor amendments to the original weightings from the 2016 Omnibus Survey since this release was first published on 7 July. These changes are small, but have affected some of the comparisons made in the survey.

Results from a survey of people’s attitudes towards electric vehicles.

In 2016, when all respondents were asked about attitudes to and knowledge of electric vehicles 5% said that they were thinking about buying an electric car or van. The results were similar to those from the 2015 and 2014 surveys.

When driving licence holders were asked about the most important factors that they considered when buying a car or van (more than one answer allowed):

  • 83% said cost
  • 82% said reliability
  • 74% said safety
  • 64% said comfort
