Details

The Campaign for the Farmed Environment and other leading farming organisations are working together to encourage farmers and land managers in England to voluntarily adopt important land management practices that will benefit the environment. The Survey of Land Under Environmental Management is run by the Department for Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and gathers data to assess the level of awareness of the Campaign for the Farmed Environment. It also aims to estimate the total areas of non agri-environment scheme land which are managed for conservation.

This latest publication relates to the third on-going monitoring survey run in February 2012 covering the 2011/12 crop year. Topics include:

  • familiarity with the Campaign
  • attitudes towards the Campaign
  • intentions to take action in the future and reasons for not taking action
  • land area not in production
  • land under some form of environmental management
