Note
Due to accidental early release on GOV.UK we have brought forward the publication date of the Taking Part 2012/13 annual child report by 24 hours to ensure equal access to all. Documents published early were recalled the same day on Tuesday 20 August. The National Statistician’s Office has been informed.
About
The Taking Part survey has run since 2005 and is the key evidence source for DCMS. It is a continuous face to face household survey of adults aged 16 and over in England and children aged 5 to 15 years old. This latest release presents child data from April 2012 to March 2013.

Meta-data

Previous release
The previous Taking Part release was published on 27 June 2013. It also provides spreadsheets containing the data and sample sizes for each sector included in the survey.
Pre-release access
The document above contains a list of ministers and officials who have received privileged early access to this release of Taking Part data. In line with best practice, the list has been kept to a minimum and those given access for briefing purposes had a maximum of 24 hours.
