Disclosure in criminal cases is the process to make sure that investigators and prosecutors provide defendants with information obtained during the investigation which may help them to prepare their defence. It is an essential part of all criminal investigations and prosecutions. The Attorney General has issued guidelines for prosecutors, investigators and defence lawyers on the conduct of disclosure in investigations and prosecutions.

A first edition was published in 2005 and updated in 2011 with supplementary guidelines on digitally stored material.
