Bid to supply Economic Degree Apprenticeship Programme
Information for potential suppliers about the Government Economic Service (GES) Degree Apprenticeship Programme (DAP) including how to bid for the contract.
Overview
We are looking for a supplier with the proven ability to effectively manage and administer a large degree apprenticeship programme that meets all regulatory requirements relevant to delivery of the programme.
The Government Economic Service (GES) is the professional body for economists in the UK Civil Service. It champions economics in government; supporting economists and promoting the use of high-quality economic analysis in policymaking. GES Economists provide analysis and insight in support of the entire range of UK Government and public service activities. The GES is committed to becoming a community of greater diversity and inclusion, and to the core values of the Civil Service; integrity, honesty, objectivity and impartiality.
The GES Degree Apprenticeship Programme is an important element in building diversity, capability and talent for the profession. Detailed requirements (to be finalised) are set out below:
- support cohorts of around 60 new apprentices a year, starting in September 2024
- attract candidates from a broad, diverse, talent pool – enabling us to recruit from parts of the community we do not reach through our graduate and direct entry recruitment
- equip apprentices with the knowledge, skills and behaviours they will need to be effective, high-performing economists within GES
- provide advice and guidance on compliance and emerging best practice in the delivery of degree apprenticeships
- lead on all aspects of programme administration including production of learning materials, apprentice and line manager communications and academic and wellbeing support for students
