Content maintenance
How to manage your content.
You can add an optional review date to any GOV.UK content type in Whitehall Publisher. You’ll receive an email reminder to check the content on the date you set.
How to set a review date
- Find the ‘Review date’ tick box in the edit document screen (at the bottom)
- Add the review date - this needs to be a date in the future
- Add an email address - this can be a team email or your own email address (if you do not have a team email)
- Send for second eyes (2i) and publishing as you normally would
Examples
A detailed guide needs uprating information changed for the new tax year. You set a review date in line with your publishing plan.
A news article contains details of a conviction that must be removed from GOV.UK when the sentence is served. You add a review date to remind you.
To act on the review date notification email
- Click the link in the email to go to the document summary screen
- Check if the content needs updating
- If the content is up-to-date, set a new review date by clicking the ‘Edit review date’ button on the document summary screen (you do not need to create a new edition)
- If the content needs updating, create a new edition, make your content changes and add a new date to the review date field
