Cyber security CNI apprenticeships

Register your interest in future Government-funded cyber security apprenticeships in critical national infrastructure (CNI) sectors.

DCMS is promoting cyber security as an attractive career option as well as one that is vital to the UK’s national interest. It is crucial that the UK’s critical national infrastructure (CNI) has a steady supply of cyber security experts working for them.

CNI includes the following sectors:

  • Telecommunications
  • Civil nuclear industry
  • Electricity generators
  • Oil and gas
  • Transport infrastructure

Benefits for candidates

The CNI cyber apprenticeships scheme is aimed at those looking to enter the cyber security profession and offers training in cyber security, as well as professional experience.

This is your opportunity to join a growing profession and help defend against increasing cyber threats to the UK’s critical national infrastructure, the country and the wider economy. The apprenticeships allow candidates to achieve level 4 qualifications.

Benefits for industry

There is high demand for cyber security professionals across industry. This scheme offers a great chance to CNI organisations looking to grow its cyber security workforce.

As an employer, your organisation could benefit from Government funding and support to attract talented individuals to a cyber security career. The Government may also benefit from your expertise as a sector advisor.

Some of the organisations from our first and second phases include:

  • Costain
  • EDF Energy
  • Electricity Northwest
  • E.ON UK
  • Essar Oil
  • Dover Port
  • Horiba-Mira
