Request design assurance for an active travel scheme

Scheme promoters can request design assurance from Active Travel England for government-funded travel projects.

Active Travel England (ATE) offers design assurance for any government-funded active travel or cross-modal scheme.

You can use this form to apply for ATE to review your scheme.

Eligibility

This service is available for:

  • any government-funded travel project in England
  • local authorities in Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales that have received support from the Levelling Up Fund

What you will need to apply

To apply for an ATE active travel review for your scheme, you will need to:

  • supply the design stage gate of your project
  • attach a plan showing the extent of the scheme plan and supporting information
  • provide contact details for 2 people associated with the scheme – if you are a local authority that is part of a combined authority (CA), the second contact must be a CA contact
