Queen’s Gurkha Signals Attestation Parade 2022
On 3 March 2022, 72 Gurkhas from Recruit Intake 2022 took part in their Queen’s Gurkha Signals Attestation Parade at Altcar Training Camp in Merseyside. Colonel of the Regiment, Major General JJ Cole OBE was the inspecting officer at the parade.
In accordance with regimental tradition, six newly commissioned Gurkha Warrant officers were also attested and officially commissioned. Also on the parade square were pipers and drummers, providing musical entertainment for those present.
The Princess Royal’s visit
On Monday 26 July The Princess Royal visited the NW RFCA, based at Altcar Training Camp in Hightown, to officially open the new headquarters and seal the time capsule.

Champion Cadets
NW RFCA support more than 12,000 cadets and over 2500 Cadet Force Adult Volunteers within the North West and Isle of Man region. As champions of the cadet movement we promote the benefits of the cadet experience to young people lives and support recruitment of Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.

Promote the Reserve Forces
NW RFCA supports Reservists of all three Services based in the North West of England and the Isle of Man. Alongside the regional Chains of Command and through the Association Membership, NW RFCA engages with local communities in the region to increase understanding of Reserve service and strengthen links with local units.

Provide the best place to work and train
NW RFCA maintain over 400 Reserve and Cadet sites in the North West Region. Through their expertise and local knowledge, our Estates team ensure an attractive environment in which to recruit, train and ‘refresh the spirit of our volunteers’.
NW RFCA also carries out home adaptations for injured service personnel and veterans. The programme provides normality and independence to the individual by altering the home to suit the individual’s needs.
