DMBM680920 - Ordinary Cause: Notice of intention to defend lodged by the defender

Some content of this manual is being considered for archiving. If there is content you use regularly, please email [email protected] to let us know as soon as possible.

Some courts will inform you whenever a defender lodges with them a notice of intention to defend (a “NID”) (court form O7). Other courts will not.

You will need to find out what the local practice is for your courts.

If it is your local court practice not to notify on the first working day following the expiry of the period of notice (DMBM680090), you must telephone the court to ascertain as to whether the defender has lodged a notice of intention to defend.
