Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy (K4D2)

Closed: the FCDO invited proposals by 23 June 2023 to deliver its Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy (K4D2) programme, which will expand decision-makers’ access to demand-led, rapid-turnaround evidence.

This opportunity closed on 23 June 2023.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is running an accountable grant competition to find a non-profit organisation (or organisations) to deliver its new Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy (K4D2) programme. Organisations should have the capacity and expertise to establish and manage a service which will deliver rapid-evidence support to development and diplomacy decision-makers.

The deadline to submit proposals is 10am on 23 June 2023.

The FCDO is looking for a non-profit organisation (or a consortium led by a non-profit organisation), including academic institutions or thinktanks, with the capacity and expertise to:

  • establish and manage a helpdesk service which will receive and manage requests for rapid-turnaround written evidence summaries
  • service requests for in-person or online learning events, bringing together internal and external experts
  • establish and maintain a flexible pool of researchers, with expertise across the range of FCDO’s development and diplomacy priorities, and the ability to respond rapidly to requests
  • effectively manage financial and administrative elements of programme delivery, including performance monitoring and reporting

Read detailed guidance about the programme, including how to submit a proposal: Call for proposals from non-profit organisations to deliver Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy statement of need and email your proposal to [email protected] by 10am on 23 June 2023.

There is more information about this call for proposals in Information session for prospective bidders for the Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy (K4D2) programme: FCDO responses to questions.

For fairness and transparency, additional questions and answers will be added to Knowledge for Development and Diplomacy (K4D2): questions and answers, 6 June 2023.
