SPRING: assets to adolescent girls initiative
A pioneering business accelerator which supported early to mid-stage ventures with products to improve the lives of girls in poverty.
Overview
The SPRING accelerator identified early-stage ventures with products which could improve the lives of girls and provide support to these ventures, including funding of up to £50,000, mentors, expertise and peer-to-peer support to help drive their business models forward. A 5 year programme, SPRING started first in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, before rolling out to 5 more countries across Africa and Asia.
What the fund will achieve
SPRING helped transform the lives of adolescent girls by creating sustainable markets for life-enhancing products and services. These products and services helped girls to learn, earn, save, invest and be safe from harm.
