Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire and burns as the earthing arrangement for the product is inadequate. The fuse did not contain a ballast which can lead the plug to overheat and ignite under fault conditions, exploding and injuring persons nearby. The product required improvement to markings, labelling and documentation, including the Declaration of Conformity.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
