Forces Children's Trust

The Forces Children's Trust assists the children of UK armed forces members that have died or sustained life-changing injuries as a result of service.

About the Forces Children’s Trust

Founded in 2004, the Forces Children’s Trust offers support and networking opportunities to children whose parents have died or sustained life-changing injuries as a result of service.

Their work allows young people to meet others who have experienced a similar loss, in an environment where they can feel accepted and understood. The social support allows the young people time with peers, which can help them adjust and cope with their grief.

Their residential weeks and the expedition adventures are designed to be challenging physically and mentally, which can provoke emotions. The social support in place can then help to build and develop self-confidence and resilience toward challenging situations.

They also support children who are full-time carers, those with a parent living with PTSD and those who are experiencing violence in the home.

Alongside this, they offer support to children and young people who require extracurricular lessons due to circumstances beyond the parents’ control, as well as respite breaks to the children and parents at their time-share apartments in Spain.
