Access Op NOVA: Supporting veterans in the justice system

Op NOVA provides support for veterans who are in contact with the justice system in England, enabling them to access the services they need.

About Op NOVA

Op NOVA is a dedicated support pathway that is delivered by the Forces Employment Charity and commissioned by NHS England.

They work with veterans that have been in contact with the criminal justice system to tackle housing problems, debt, mental health issues and drug or alcohol misuse, while also reducing re-offending.

Their specialist team is drawn from those who have served in the armed forces, as well as partners, children and parents of those who serve or have served. Other members of the team have worked in the police, probation, prisons or charity sector.

They undertake an assessment to understand each veteran’s needs, and can put in place specialist support from their network of military charities and healthcare partners, such as the NHS’s specialist veterans mental health provision, Op COURAGE.
