Details

These regulations amend the Railway (Licensing of Railway Undertakings) Regulations 2005 and the Railway (Licensing of Railway Undertakings) (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 to provide for the continued recognition of EEA issued rail operator licences (European licences) for the Channel Tunnel and cross-border area.

This will enable the implementation and ratification of a bilateral agreement, which has been agreed at technical level but is subject to final legal checks and ratification, between the UK and France on the mutual recognition of rail operator licences for the Channel Tunnel and cross-border area.
