Details

Part 11 of the Act builds on government reform of the policing landscape towards greater freedom for the police to take local decisions that fit the needs of the areas they serve. It will enhance the integrity and professionalism of the police by extending the powers and remit of the Independent Police Complaints Commission and the College of Policing. The Act will also make changes to the body that review police pay by abolishing the Police Negotiating Board and replacing it with an independent Police Remuneration Review Body. The new body will make evidence based recommendations on police remuneration.
